In late 2004 our good friend Dave Unser suggested we have a Pipe of the Year. We liked the idea so much we
immediately set out to have our first POY made for 2005.

The Gray Fox 2006 Pipe Of The Year
Like the 2005, the 2006 POY was made by Cristiano, from the highest quality Calabrian
briar. It is a large, stylized straight egg with smooth burnt orange finish. Swirled dark acrylic
stems adorn these fine briars. Again, this was a limited edition pipe, with only 30 produced.

The Gray Fox 2005 Pipe Of The Year
While the 2005 POY is no longer available, we thought we'd leave the story behind them
posted. The 2005 pipe was made by Thomas Cristiano. Thomas brought master Italian pipe
maker Cesare Barontini in on the project, and Cesare designed an over-sized stylistic
bulldog, specifically for the Gray Fox. Thomas then had his carvers at Calabresi hand make
each pipe, and finished the each one in a handsome sandblast. Only 30 of these pipes were
made, 15 in copper stems, and 15 in ivory.

Superb high grade sandblasted bent billiard from the king of pipemakers, Kaywoodie. By
far, the finest pipe ever released with the GF POY stamp, these 36 briars were cut from the
finest plateau and feature sterling silver rings and high quality acrylic stems. Only 36
produced.
